PLUS 360 Notifications can alert eSchoolPLUS users and staff members about events involving their students or specific actions they need to take on a student's behalf.
The following pages and features allow a system administrator or authorized user to set up and manage notification options at the district, building, and user level.
The Notifications District Setup page allows a system administrator or authorized user to set up and update district-wide options for sending notifications when certain types of events occur in the system.
At the district setup level, the option you select in the Availability field determines:
The notification options you select in the Notifications District Setup default when a new Notifications Building Setup record is added to the system.
The Notifications Building Setup page allows a system administrator or authorized user to set up and update building-specific options for sending notifications when certain types of events occur in the system.
The Notifications Building Setup page displays notifications your district has set to be Mandatory or Optional in the Availability field.
When the district temporarily disables notifications to run processes such as Year End Rollover, a message in bold red typeface displays to indicate which settings are currently disabled.
You can also disable all notifications or notifications for specific packages using the Notifications Building Setup page. Users configured to receive notifications from other buildings will continue to receive notifications sent from those buildings.
The Notification Subscription page allows users to select the types of notifications they want to receive, as well as to configure additional notification options.
All users will receive notifications designated as Mandatory at the district or building level.
For notifications set to be Optional at the building level, users can:
Certain notification types allow users to select a Watch List to receive the notifications only when events are triggered for students in the list, when applicable.
If your district or building temporarily turns off notifications, for example, during Year-End Rollover, users will not receive any notifications until the district or building once again enables notifications.
If you receive notifications in multiple buildings and notifications are temporarily turned off in one or more buildings, you will still be able to receive notifications from buildings in which notifications are enabled.
The options specified on the setup and subscription pages determine how the Notifications options function and interact within the system. If you have specific questions about who can receive notifications or any troubleshooting questions, refer to your system administrator.
The settings saved in the Notifications District Setup determine the default notification options available in a new Notifications Building Setup record.
Once the settings are saved at the building or user subscription level, they will not be overridden by changes you make to the District Notifications Setup settings, except when you make a notification Mandatory at the district level.
If you disable a notification at the district level, it will not be disabled at the building level in any existing building setups, but it will be disabled by default in any new building setups added after you save your changes in the district setup.
The settings saved in the Notifications Building Setup determine the default notification options available for users to configure in the Notification Subscription page.
If any users are already subscribed to receive a notification that has been changed from Optional to Mandatory at the District or Building level, those users will retain their original subscription settings, including their settings for the following options: Email/Daily Digest, Home Building Only, and Watch List.
Changing a notification from Optional to Mandatory affects only those users who were not already subscribed to the notification.
Users who were not previously subscribed to a notification that has been changed to Mandatory will then be subscribed to the notification using the defaults specified by the District or Building for that notification.
Prior to running processes that generate a large number of notifications, such as Year End Rollover and Scheduling processes, a system administrator can temporarily turn off notifications in the entire district or only in certain buildings. They can also select to disable notifications in all packages or only notifications for certain packages at either the district or building level.
When your system administrator disables notifications at the district or building level, a message displays in bold red text in the corresponding section on the Notifications Building Setup page and on the Notification Subscription page to indicate where the notifications are disabled.
Previous versions of eSchoolPLUS included the option to display the My Messages section on the eSchoolPLUS My Home page. In the current version of eSchoolPLUS, message notifications display in the PLUS 360 Notifications Viewer.
Notifications display in the PLUS 360 Notifications Viewer from the applications you are configured to use in your district.
Notification options configured in other PLUS 360 applications your district uses may display at the bottom of the setup pages. For example, if your district has a license key for IEPPLUS, the IEPPLUS notifications configured for your district may display.
If your district uses IEPPLUS, IEPPLUS notifications your district has set as Optional can be modified at the building level. Additionally, the IEPPLUS Notifications section displays at the bottom of the Notification Subscription page for authorized users to subscribe to IEPPLUS notifications.
For more information, refer to IEPPLUS Notification Subscription Options.
